Sing Praise

Play Audio Track

This arrangement was written for the opening congregational song(s) for the 1988 Congress of Praise in Chicago (Central Territory USA) at the request of Lt. Col Dennis Phillips. It features three songs: To God Be the Glory, Praise Him Praise Him, and Praise to the Lord the Almighty, the King of Creation. This piece is nearly 8 minutes in duration, but can be shortened by a couple minutes by omitting two verses (just take the two second endings in To God Be the Glory and Praise HIm).

The title of this arrangement, "Sing Praise" comes from Psalm 105:2-3 "Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts. Glory in His holy name: let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice."

To God be the glory, great things He hath done
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the life gate that all may go in

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son
But purer and higher and greater will be
Our wonder, our rapture, when Jesus we see

(repeat chorus)
(interlude)

Praise Him, praise Him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer
Sing, O earth His wonderful love proclaim
Hail Him, hail Him, highest archangels in glory
Strength and honor give to His holy name
Like a shepherd Jesus will guard His children
In His arms He carries them all day long
Praise Him, praise Him, tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song

Praise him, praise him, Jesus our blessed Redeemer
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring
Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever
Crown him, crown him, Prophet and Priest and King
Christ is coming, over the world victorious
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong
Praise Him, praise Him, tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song
(interlude)

Praise to the Lord,
The almighty the King of creation
O my soul praise him
For he is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord,
Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy
here daily attend thee
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
He who with love doth befriend thee
(interlude)

Praise to the Lord,
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath,
come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
