Pass Me Not - Piano

Play Garritan® Audio Track

This trombone solo was written 1/22/2020 for my brother Ron Shoults, longtime trombone player in the Chicago Staff Band and Oakbrook Terrace Band. Ron is also the songster leader (choir director) at the Oakbrook Terrace Corps of the Salvation Army. This song by Fanny Crosby is based on the story of the blind beggar who called out to Jesus as he was passing by, found in Luke 18:35-43. This arrangement features verses 1, 2, and 4.

The lyrics to this song:

Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
And while others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

(Chorus)
Saviour! Saviour!
Hear my humble cry,
And while others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Let me at the throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.

Thou the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in Heaven but Thee?
