This short piano solo was written at a Salvation Army conference center, Sunbury Court located in Sunbury-on-Thames, England, while Gerry was visiting with The Chicago Staff Band in June 1972. Gerry wrote this tune late one evening, as a "love note" to Kathie, using an old upright piano on the front porch of the main building. Who knew that three years later (almost to the date), they were to be married and have now celebrated 46+ years marriage together. Gerry played this at their wedding, and it has remained one of Kathie's treasured memories.
