This song was written for my youngest daughter, Lauren on December 4, 1986 for her baby dedication service at the Oakbrook Terrace Corps of The Salvation Army. The title comes from Genesis 1:26-27 which says "So God created mankind in his own image..." I felt so blessed when Lauren entered my life, just as when Melissa and Chadwick were born. The prayer of this song is that Lauren would discover God's love for her, and would guide Kathie and me as we nurtured and cared for her.

While Lauren is named in this song, you could adapt it by substituting your own child's name. For a son, you could also change the female pronouns to their male counterparts.
