This setting of Psalm 20 is dedicated to the memory of John Norton. John was the Songster Leader (choir director) at The Salvation Army Dallas Temple Corps in the early 1990s. John also was a euphonium player in the band. This choir composition was written while John was in the late stages of his battle with cancer. The theme of this psalm of David is the confidence we should place in our God especially in times of need and apparent defeat. "Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God (Yahweh)"
